Hi all! I am looking for two things. First, what is the sling that women use
for their babies called? I'm not talking about the Snugli thing, this is a
sling, over the shoulder used to carry babies. It makes for easy breast
feeding, and hand's free holding.

Second, does anyone have a good recipe for Chile Verde? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Do you know if there is a special name for the sling? I was thinking
the idea for the sling came from some tribe off in a jungle somewheres. <g>

When my daughter was little, we used a sling with a brand-name of "Over
the Shoulder Baby Holder", and, IIRC, it was a good one. We also had some
custom-made ones.

I don't know of any special name. You can look on Google for more
information. I just used "over the shoulder baby holder" as a search
phrase to verify the name, as it's been a while since we used it (she's a
little big, at 3.5, to fit in it!)

One's called a maya, there's a lady that makes ones like it for $20 (including shipping) brand new. If you want her website, I can get it for you. She's wonderful, and I love the sling I got from her!!

You might like a "maya wrap" also, here is a link to someone who sells them.

Check out http://www.kangarookorner.com
Some are sometimes on ebay, too, but it is nice to get a feel for what
*you*, the wearer and the baby, would like. My babies liked to be held
differently than each other in different types of slings. I'm picky on
my fabrics, too.

Over the Shoulder Baby Holder is one and it has a padded shoulder. You can get it through any LaLeche League group. The other one is called a Maya Wrap and there is a website...I believe it's www.mayawrap.com
--this is the one I've used with my daughter-still do when she's asleep and I have to go into a store and she's 18 months old. 100% cotton..all sorts of colors, patterns.....absolutely fabulous!

Do you mean green chile sauce, like for enchiladas?
Or do you mean just green chile which is a substance, an element (Serano
Peppers)?
Or do you mean something which doesn't translate into New-Mexico-ese?

Chile Verde, a kind of Mexican pork stew. I have a recipe, but don't like it.
I ate it once long ago and it was wonderful! Maybe I will just have to
experiment and *tweek* the recipe I have. <g>
