dealing with school officials...

hey you guys..i'm new to this group..but i was needing some help.
i'm a unschooling teen in kansas. my mom doesn't like the idea of
me "sitting around and doing nothing"..but she hasn't really inforced
me doing more than reading.
i take 2 classes at the jr.high, but i sometimes miss them..
because i have missed so many classes, i have to meet with the school
social workers, the vice P., and my school councler(sp?)... i have to
convince them to let me continue to homeschool...i'm intrested in
joining a umbrella school, but i don't know how to explain to them
how it works.
have any suggestions on talking with them?..i'm kind of afraid, i
really don't want it to go bad..if i does then i'll have to go back
to the public schools.
help?

I think that really depends on how your parents feel about it too. How old

What are the laws about homeschooling in Kansas? I bet you aren't
required to take two jr. high classes. What it sounds like you need
is your mom to insist to the school officials that she is following
the homeschool law and that it's perfectly legal. Unfortunately,
your mom needs to fight this battle because school officials will
just see your arguments as the argument of a "delinquent".
