Re: Seattle and Vancouver

Haven't been to Vancouver with kids but in Seattle my boys (8 and 3) and I
enjoyed the Chittenden Locks and accompanying salmon ladder. I think it's
still the season for the salmon to run upstream. There were plenty of salmon
in August.
The other thing that's fun and I thought way cool was the International
Fountain at the Seattle Center. It's this big globe of a fountain set in a
big basin with dozens of shooting jets of water that people (mostly kids) run
down and play in if it's the least bit warm. (Swimsuits and towels are a
good idea there.) The cool thing is that the jets are somehow choreographed
to go off with whatever music they're playing. I think it's done by live
humans, not a computer (based on the fact that once the synchronization was
amazing and the other visit it was so-so) but I'm not sure).

We'll be in Seattle and Vancouver at the end of this month. I'm really
