I am still looking for Latin books...especially good workbooks. I have the
Usborne book and I ordered the Latin Workbook called "Latin is Not So
Tough". I am not too impressed with the latter. It is fairly juvenile and
boring.

Any ideas????
Thanks.

Power Glide has been working on Latin courses but I am not sure if
they have good workbooks that come with the tapes. They have Latin
for adults and maybe by now they have a course for kids also.

My older daughter uses Artes Latinae from Bolchazy-Carducci
(www.bolchazy.com) -- comes with workbooks, tapes, and other books --
there is also a cd-rom version.

Powerglide...I found their site a little sparse. And I had trouble getting
past their main page of computer gibberish . SO, I will rely on your advice
on this series Sandy. What have you liked about Power Glide??? I am
listening in with David.

I loved the bolchazy site and have ordered some info.
David...which program have you used ..there are many in the computer
listing. I was interested too in the Latin Music book for singing. Good idea.
But which texts or workbooks do you use...are they children friendly? Can
they work on their own or do they need a lot of guidance??

Tell me more :)

FUN (Billy & Nancy)

The Rosetta Stone offers Latin. We haven't used the Latin CD-ROM
specifically, but we have really liked other languages we've tried and they
use the same immersion style approach for all of their languages. We have
some information at http://www.FUN-Books.com/rosetta_stone.htm

Lee Roversi

>There are Asterix and Obelix books in Latin.

And, Winnie the Pooh and The Grinch, to name just a couple that my son,
Sky, has found and enjoyed! He would loudly cheer on any "word person" to
study and have fun with Latin. Being a young man intensely interested in
languages, he loves Latin.
