New Mexico

Is there anyone on this list from New Mexico? We are considering moving
within 2 years and my husband is interested in New Mexico. Are you
comfortable unschooling in New Mexico? Is there much interference from
the government?

My family is moving there in the next 1-2 years. From what I understand of
the law there, you send a letter of intent and that's it. The perfect place
for unschoolers!

Lynda
Mimi,
You should go to the NHEN boards and look up the homeschooling laws for the
states you are interested in.

Great laws! Only 2-3 more portfolio reviews here in MD and then NO HASSLES!!
Where in NM are you Joy? We'll be moving to Albuquerque. We want to buy a
patch of land outside of town, say 10-20 acres and do dome neo-homesteading.
DH will be working in town. Where are some good areas outside of Abq that
have a commute of no more than 30 minutes? And how is the weather? I read
all the yearly temp charts but don't really know how to apply them. for
example winter (Feb.) says a high of 42* and low 22* does that mean snow?
alot or a little? rain was about <9 inches. I know we'll have to irrigate.
Summer here in DC is hot, humid and about 2 1/2 months of swimming weather.
The growing season here is May-Sept. Is it longer there?
These are all teh questions the 1000's of websites don't really answer!
Elissa, who is not excited at all, really.
