That's cool, now I know two heterosexual communists <g> My stepdad's
stepdad was and he was so neat when we were kids. I never could figure out
how "communists" could be evil like all the teachers kept telling us when
all he wanted was good working conditions and a share of the pie. He had a
couple of girl friends when he got older so I guess he wasn't into a
"closed" marriage. But hey, who cares, he was a great grandfather and gave
us kids tons of good memories!
Oops, I'm wrong. I forgot my 3rd grade school teacher. She was
heterosexual and a communist also (I don't know if she was in a closed
marriage or not). So that makes three. I remember this because there was a
big stink and we all had a weeks vacation because she wouldn't make us say
the pledge of alligance every morning in school and all the parents were
whispering about her being "red." She was also a great teacher in that she
didn't believe in pigeon holes or stereotypes and she never punished anyone.
We had discussions about inappropriate behavior and then the class decided
the "consequences" of the "behaviors" but the child who had misbehaved had
to agree. I remember she said that we all "owned" our own actions and had
to be responsible for them. Funny the things you remember.

Hey, Julie~
I live in north Texas. What part are you in?
I'm straight and in a closed relationship, too. Not a communist, but
get called a "dyke" a lot because of my hairy armpits and shaved
head! It's probably not easy to be "different" anywhere, but TX has
it's quirks, don't it?

I sure miss Day on the Green concerts! We took the kidlets to the Beach
Boys when they were little and they loved both the music, being able to run
around AND the beach ball that never hit the ground.
There are other great places out here but there was something special about
those original Day on the Greens!

I like YES and Rush too. Have you ever heard Jon And VanGelis? It's
Jon Anderson from YES teamed up with VanGelis.
I also like Matchbox 20, Cat Stevens, The Coers, Sixpence None The
