There are countless internet sites showing video (of everything from street
corners to sex. Heck, there may be sites that show sex on street corners).
There are zoos which set up cameras to watch animal cages, more interesting
than many things now on "regular" television. There are amateur video
productions and professional ones. There are great movie trailer sites.
For anyone who likes to look at moving images on a screen, with commercials,
without, fast paced or slow, computers are an excellent tool, available 24
hours per day.

My geeky husband has a peice of software and a cable connection on his
copmuter. He watches tv all the time while working on the computer.
