wait the porn people did, but well.. You Know! <G> Besides the work
created by this mess is sort of staggering.
and actually it was CBN -- Christian Broadcast Netwrok....which has it's own
bit of irony attached to it. ;)

No no no...I remember when this happened. Hem by
accident or oversite didnt get their web site renewed.
An overseas co. bought the domain name and it was a
pornographic site. Everyone that clicked on Hems link
was taken to this pornography site. Hem sent out an
emergency letter to everyone on their mailing list
telling them what happened. I dont always read all of
my mail so I dont know if they have sent out anything
since but it was a huge mix up...
I wonder if the TV coverage is for real...if so could
someone mail me and tell me how it turned out? Having
a web site of my own I cant even imagine how horrible
this must have been!!

I don't think it has to be "someone bought it" for that to happen.
Twice before (once lately, once a couple of years ago) I've gone to the
websites of homeschooling-related things (one was religious, one was just a
family site) and in clicking here and there to see their other pages I'd get
this really irritating porn site that would open up a bunch of windows. All
the porn-goobs have to do is make one of your links go to their site and if
you don't know how to undo that there it is. So you pull your link off the
main page and change it.
But in HEM's case, they made the main address, which had been published all
kinds of places, go to that site.
