I would start your son on echinacea tincture. Herbs for Kids makes a great one with Glycerin vs alcohol which works well for kids and does not have the sting of alcohol. This will help his immune system in dealing with the infection. On the cut itself, I would apply some calendula tincture to clean it and then a thin layer of calendula salve. All these items should be available at
