Ongoing International Homeschooling Event... Homeschooler's World Quilt
Tina Fermin by way of Helen Hegener
Hi my name is Tina,
I homeschool my 11 year old son in Utah. We recently began a project
that I would like to share with you.
Homeschooler's World Quilt
To be a part of the project each family or group creates a quilt
packet that tells about where they are from. The quilt packet consist
of a quilt square, brochure and a postcard. Exchange your quilt
packets with other members to create your own unique quilt of
culture. To become part of the project sign up on the yahoo-groups
page and exchange your quilt packets with other families and groups
from around the world. Currently there are 50 families involved,
including England, Saudi Arabia,Sweden, New Zealand and Australia....
come join us on this fun exchange of culture.
See pictures of some of the squares created by participating families-

So,
how many quilt squares does each family have to send in? I could access
the pictures but for some reason the sole internet provider here in Oman has
blocked access to the Quilt project saying it is possibly pornographic or
something. Does anyone have any idea why this site could be
forbidden for me to look at? You mentioned that people from Saudi
Arabia have access, and that country is a lot more strict than Oman.

in Oman (ds 11, ds6, dd 4, dd 1 1/2), new to this list as of a week
ago.

The first time I tried it wouldn't let me in
either. It took until this morning. I got all kinds of weird
messages on it--page doesn't exist; banned; and two others.
I would also like somemore info. The kidlets
are really interested in this one.
