That jars don't hold the smell, the lid does. I make a paste of baking soda
and water and smear it on the rubber gizmo around the inside edges as that
is what really holds the smell. Then I do a pan of dishwater at night (to
hot to touch <g>) dump them in and leave them to soak. Next morning, no
smell.
