I'm working on a webpage about movies (to help unschoolers loosen up and
frolic) and found this:
_http://www.lucasfilm.com/_ (http://www.lucasfilm.com/)
Just play with the opening screen a bit.

If a kid is studying art or literature or math (engineering/programming),
that page could be considered purely academic time.

-=-Then it said that time on the computer for academics shouldn't count
against the kid's screen time, thereby contradicting their earlier statement that
too much *time* with TV etc. is just plain bad for kids.-=-

Yeah, I can't decide which I dislike more, hypcricy or bullshit. Finding
them both in one place like that is just....

well nevermind that, look at this!

And the movie page, in its current just-getting-started form is here:

when you click on the link and it comes up wrong in your browser it usually
means an added symbol was included in the link. In this case, I had "]" at
the end of the link...be deleting that symbol and hitting enter, I get the
intended page. This happens a lot for me with links in email....an easy fix
though.

Links weren't working. :(
I should mention that I've been sharing your video game pages on the
gaming forums I frequent. There's a bunch of people (mostly rather young)
who 'get it' right away - that play is how people learn and gaming is a
great way to learn valuable skills. :)

NONE?
Maybe they're fixed now. I was working on it as I wrote that other.
I'll be working on it next year, too. <g>

Thanks.

I get fan mail sometimes from people who stumbled across it (teenaged boys
usually).

For some reason whenever Sandra puts a link in an email it comes out
like the above with that little extra _ on it. So I click on the link
then once it goes to a "page not found" I just backspace over the _ and
then hit enter. Vola! Linky works.

Oh, the links didn't work in the e-mail! I thought they didn't work on the
page.

Sorry either way. I just misunderstood.

HEY.
the slash one looks better.
If it works better, I promise to try to always put a slash at the end.

No, it looked better because I didn't finish the second one.

If someone knows what I'm doing wrong or could do better, let me know.

For most email programs, urls come through better if you put < and >
around them.

<www.sandradodd.com/unschooling>

Also - hit return right before a link so it starts on its own line.

If you find something with a loooooooooong URL, you
can visit http://www.tinyurl.com then paste in the
long URL. It will automatically create a 'tiny URL' -
basically a short redirect link for yours.

And it's free :)
