Math-u-see

Has anyone's children played with Math-U-See? I think mostly my son likes
the manipulatives and the song. but I find myself asking is it too schooly?

I'm glad we switched!
We are now safer and healthier, using toxic-free products and saving money,

We have some of the MUS manipulatives, and we LOVE them! They're only as "schooly" as you make them out to be...my girls are under the impression that they're toys, like Legos! LOL Same with a fraction puzzle we have, or Tangrams...even workbooks! We own LOTS of math things, come to think of it, including Singapore and Miquon workbooks that I bought for a song at a thrift store, and they're just here, collecting dust until someone is interested in picking one up.
Basically, your son is enjoying some blocks and some music. I don't see any harm in that. :-)

How do you use them in your home? Do you buy the curriculum that goes to it?
I thought about pick up the curriculum - more for myself then my son -
because he is very mathematically inclined and I am not very good at math. I
can barely add without counting on my fingers. I got descent grades in PS in
Algebra and such but that was eons ago.
