Hi Folks,
I'm trying to figure out if we can play World of Warcraft on a MacBook. My son has been
playing lots of other games but is now interested in the WoW. Anyone plays WoW on a
MacBook?
All markers seem pointing to us getting a new desktop in the near future. But until that
happens I think he wants to see if he can play.
Thanks for any advice.
Gillian

Yup, you can! I recently started playing with my daughter through the
Recruit-a-Friend program. Dd plays on a PC and I play on a MacBook.
You can either download the program through the Blizzard site, or buy
the software for a Mac.

We play on MacBooks. We use wireless mice (mouses?) though, because
the "right click" on the MacBooks are funky, especially for game play.

Thanks for all the responses. We finally got the WOW trial up and
running on the MacBook and will probably buy the online download this
evening so that my son can join the Unschoolers Area - he can't join
in on the trial. It worked out well that my parents just got high
speed internet because we had to come over to Tobago for some
business on my part and he was still able to play. It's been great
hooking up with Brenda's son who we just met on Skype through this
list (I think). Kwamena's been chatting to him several times a day
and learning to play because of him.
Thanks again
Gillian

P.S. I'll put some pictures of Tobago up on my blog later tonight.

We got the program up and running and did the download. Kwamena now has about 10
characters and intends to get me on very soon.
We are looking for people in time zones that are ahead of us who would be interested in
Skyping while playing World of Warcraft. We have one other unschooling family with whom
he does that - Brenda in California - but we are early risers and it would be great to find
players in Europe, Asia or elsewhere in the Pacific who are ahead in time.
We are in Trinidad so that is Greenwich Mean Time minus 4.
As far as the World of Warcraft goes: Kwamena is looking for someone who would be
willing to team up/help him. He has only been playing properly for about 3 days so his
highest character is a 5 but he is an experienced Pirates of the Caribbean player so
understands the concepts and will probably upgrade quickly.
Anyhow, if you or any of your family are interested please contact me on or off list.
Also, anyone here in the Unschooling Group on WoW?
Thanks
Gillian

If you are on the U.S. servers you can play with folks from North and South America and Oceania. The European servers are separate, much to my chagrin.

I'm here. What did you need?

Typical information:
Realm: The Venture Co. (rppvp)
Guild: Horde of Unschoolers

Zoe just started and Alliance guild on Whisperwind realm. She's been
working on getting signatures to start a guild called Alliance of
Unschoolers.

We are at GMT-6 for another month or so (daylight saving time), then
back to GMT-7

Does he know how to ask in "General chat" for others to work with,
and/or get on the "Looking for Group" channel?

Yes there is an unschool guild I guess. But not sure what realm. What realm are you all
on? Where are the characters? We would love to help get Kwamena leveled up. We have
some low level toons (5-10) and a few higher level (the highest we have right now is 30).
It just depends on where. Let us know. You can email me offlist too. :)
