The Coronation of Ton and Elizabeth
as King and Queen of Atenveldt
August 13, A.S. XII (1977)

Notes by AElflaed of Duckford, who invites additions here

The event was held in The Shire of Great River, at the Newman Center on South Solano Drive in Las Cruces. Asad Ud-Din was the autocrat.

These photographs appeared in the September issue of The Outlandish Herald, which is very cool, as it was a kingdom event but the principality newsletter had photos. Photographs on newsletters were not easy then. The photograph had to go through a process so it could be printed by offset. The inside of the newsletter was photocopied, but the cover was printed with a color border and the other photos on the inside covers, by Robert the Printer and Petroushka of Bohemia.

With two clicks you can enlarge these quite a bit. The first will take you to the photobucket image, and clicking there will enlarge it yet again.

I'll identify people as best I can, and if there are errors please contact me here: aelflaed at Sandra Dodd... (it should work if you click it)

The cover is, of course, Ton the Traveller. Top left and clockwise, Deaton is to the left of Care Cherie (who is noted).

In the center photo, I don't know who's holding the sword. Lady Sikhijvala, the Aten Herald, (eventually Viscountess Hastini) is to the left of the King. I need help with the two gentlemen on the right.

The five prominent in the top right are Hieronymus, Mirhaxa, Gunwaldt, Ton and Mark Lasie.

Bottom right, Deaton, Heinrich and Ton prominent. To the left of Heinrich, Kathryn of Iveragh and Elinor Aurora (I think) and as I noted in 1977, between Heinrich and Ton appears Jimbo Gill, who was the James of Duckford who was addressed on the label on the newsletters. (He was my husband for a short time when I was very young. We got married so the state wouldn't take his orphaned brother and sister away, and we also had custody of my young half-brother, Donald of Duckford, in those days.)

Left bottom is Ton the Traveller and Elizabeth Karien awaiting the ceremony.
