Amy- we live near Albany, NY but are seriously considering moving up to the
Adirondack/Plattsburgh area (we have family there) for many of the same
reasons. We are worried about the logistics of jobs/retirement savings, etc.
The
growing season is so short there too that I wonder how much of a garden we
can
produce?
I'm wondering how your family is doing with the changes.

We're considering a move to upstate NY (lower Columbia County). And I'm
cracking up that you would be worried about the short growing season in
Plattsburgh. I'm coming from South Carolina, where our growing season is early April to
November!!!!!!!! LOL! June to September is hard for me to swallow! <g>

All right, you keep moving further and further north. Pretty soon you'll be
in Canada...so look out y'all...here she comes.

Oh! I hope so! I'
I'm dying to go but can't for the life of me figure out a way to afford it this year. Toronto though...that's possible. That's doable. Oh boy, I'm starting up a piggy bank today.

LOL

It's freaking Cameron out! We went from Asheville, NC to Murphy, NC, to
Wilkesboro, NC, back to Asheville, then to Floyd, VA--and now Upstate, NY.
Cameron's hating that we keep getting further and futher away.

Floyd seems the best of all worlds to us, but the opportunities in NY
....well, they're unique. Ben's there next weekend to scope things out deeply. Floyd
is special----and even if we don't move there, it'll be our "vacation" spot.
New York just has some GREAT possibilities!

Okay .. who knew I was toying with that in the dark recesses of my mind?! But I just can't fathom that you all would want to travel up here!
