There is an irritating form of online workbook he needs to do. He asked me
to help him, but he didn't really need much help at all.

I laughed a LOT at this, though. All he needed to do was combine a fragment
with a sentence, but he reached over and started typing and typing. The
original was this:

Question 10: The children listened entranced. Hanging on every word.

He entered this:

Response: The children listened entranced, hanging on every word like
mindless watch dogs who looked upon a dead pheasant that had flown in through the
window of the school.

He's having fun with it.
I hope his teacher is into fun too.

(eeyew, I wrote "his teacher"--I need to wash my typing hands <bwg>)

He's really enjoying classes so far. Maybe that will last. I'm curious.
I'll keep you all slightly informed. <g>

I think college classes are different in many respects to public school classes. The major difference being if you really don't want to attend you don't have to. Now, of course there are some classes that may be boring but required for a certain major - but again you still have a choice - I can either drop out or just get through it to move on to the more interesting things. I really thought high school a waste of time for me - but I am still taking college classes and loving them. I have had ones that I didn't like as much as others, but I figured I would get out of it what I put in. The key is choice and desire.

I am enjoying your posts on Kirby. I think its good to see that truly whatever it is that our kids want to do - they can do it!

Heather
