I am a graduate student at Brooklyn College. I am doing a research
project on Home schooling. I am having a hard time finding home
schoolers to interview. I need this information by November 30, 2004
or sooner. Here are the questions I need answers to by parent and
child. Please have as many home school families as possible to answer
the following questions. Their personal information will not be
included in my research paper. Thank you in advance for your help.

Questions for parents:

These questions are voluntary you have the right to refuse to answer
any and all questions. Your personal information will not be included
in my research paper.

What were you thinking when you decided to home school?
What dramatic event occurred to prompt you to home school?
What is your personal experience with the educational system?
What research did you do?
What are your expectations?
Was this a family decision?

What type of career did you leave behind?
Are you connected to the same school for a curriculum or another source?
How does your child react to you as an educator?

How many other parents do you know that home school?

The kids and I did this survey today. I loved some of their answers:
Hannah picked math as her easiest subject, Hayden answered video games
<bg>; for the "waste of time" question, both responded they don't DO
anything that is a waste of time <vbg> Today, Hayden, 6, reports
himself in 9th grade. I hope she at least enjoys a different set of
answers than what she's expecting :) ~diana
