We have rented some acreage near SLO and my son wants to raise some
pigs, chickens and maybe milk goats, maybe a cow or two. I would also
like to do some organic gardening but we need some basic mentoring. I
would be willing to trade for some free labor, housecleaning, whatever.
I would like to raise the animals as naturally and compassionately as
possible. Is there anyone locally doing this that could mentor us a
little? We are actually in Arroyo Grande which is a little south of SLO.

Hi hon,

I do not post often, but have gleaned tons of information from this group. I am on the opposite coast but I have run a certified naturally grown market garden, free range laying hens, goats, etc. I would be happy to share any information with you. :) Go ahead and email me off list.

I suggest you post on the state and local lists. The HomeSchool
Association of California (HSC) list has people from your area - they
might be able to help you make connections. Ask there about local
lists, too.
