Sandra Dodd

Once a year (most years, not all) I report my expenses and ask people to help.
There are other ways to help that don’t involve money, too.

Details are here:
http://sandradodd.com/2015/request

One of the requests is to post in discussions such as this one! I know many people have moved to facebook for their philosophical discussions, but I really like this group, and I hope some (LOTS!) of you will help keep it vibrant.

That’s all. Thanks!

Sandra

Dear Sandra,

I want to say thank you.  I made a donation and here’s why:

Your site, and carefully curated community of contributors, has given me untold support and food for thought over the past few years.  I know no other families ‘thoughtfully' unschooling in our area, and genuinely wonder where my thinking would be without this group. I thank the universe for the internet often!

My friend went to see the Dalai Llama at Glastonbury festival this year.  He talked about parents, and peaceful parenting, being the only practical, real, route to world peace.  The future of humanity lay in our laps, he said.  This line of thinking, to me, seems to be rooted in common sense not dogma.

Your site has helped me and so many others to parent more peacefully and more joyfully.  I also feel able to pass on peaceful and joyful ideas to other friends who do not unschool or read your site. Therefore your site directly enables us to contribute to world peace (and to have so much fun in doing so!).

Could there be anything more important?  Hmmmm, nuthin coming to mind right now!

Thanks again,

Belinda (UK).

PS, I love the uncluttered nature of the Yahoo Group, I find Facebook a bit overwhelming and distracting and tend to instinctively avoid it in general, so i do really value this space.

This is sweet:

Keith and I have joked (but it’s really not a joke, so I should say that we have gently comforted ourselves with…) that just by going to work and letting me write, and travel, he was helping change the world.

Had I been surrounded by people who discouraged or shamed me for my odd hobby, things would be different in more families than mine.

Thank you for all the kind thoughts and words.

HI Sandra, I missed your annual request for assistance and want to contribute. Can you tell me how I can do that? Thanks so much for all you have done and for all you continue to do. Shelby Coleman

It’s not consistently annual, but it’s not more than once a year. (Is there a word for inconsistency sort of annual? Probably not a nice word. :-) )

Thanks, Shelby. :-)
