FOOD near the ALL Unschooling Symposium

There will be light snacks in the conference room so that people don't fade or faint from hunger, but when the mealtime breaks come you will need to know these things:

Target, behind the hotel, has groceries and is open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm

Attached to the hotel: Sadie's, food typical of northern New Mexico, and it's hot. More notes at the link.

In the parking lot: The Owl Cafe, a burger joint done up in late-50's, early 60's style. Show them your hotel room key, and they'll give you a 10% discount. They serve breakfast from 7:00. They have beer and wine. IMAGES and notes

Down a few hundred yards on the same side of the street: Panda Express

Bubba's (a convenience store associated with a gas station) is open 6:00 a.m. to 10: p.m.)

NEW THIS YEAR (new to the listing, anyway):
Taaj Palace Indian restaurant with vegan and vegetarian (also meat, but separate), buffet lunches, dinners, you need a car but it's 9/10 of a mile north and across (still on Eubank Blvd, as is the hotel).
Across the road (jaywalking across a four-lane road; just be careful): Sonic drive-in; no seating, but you can get food and bring it back.

Applebee's 11:00 a.m. to midnight (toward Target and then toward the mountains (but in the same parking lot as the hotel)

Down the road half a mile: Carl's Jr.

Up Lomas toward the mountains nearly a mile: McDonald's
